It's November, and winter seems ....

It’s November, and winter seems to be coming with a vengeance. The trees in the Linear park have been pretty
wonderful during the last few weeks, but there has definitely been a coldness in the weather which heralds the
start of winter.

We have been bust raising money again, and we need to thank the 2nd Culcheth Brownie pack for saving
pennies for us. We have also been bag packing at Sainsbury’s, and this always brings out the best in our
supporters. We could do with some extra help with the bag packing, however, and if anybody would be willing to
help with this for a few hours once in a while, please contact us.

Another fun event was the quiz night, which had a Halloween theme. We were lucky to raise £300 that night, due
to your support. We will have a stall at the Victorian day so make sure you pay us a visit.

The bridle path is now open to horse riders, who are welcome to use it. There is a small problem with a young
rider who comes onto the park via a field, and brings her horse over land which she is not meant to be on.
Hopefully this is something that will not reoccur.

Andy, the ranger, has arranged a series of work days, usually on a Sunday and they are advertised on the park.
Please feel free to come and join us. It is physically rewarding and fun to be working as a group.

We have asked a charity to do a specification to improve the top path for us. Unfortunately, we asked five months
ago and they still have not finished it. We cannot put the work out to tender without a specification to work to, and
so cannot get any quotes. This in turn means we have little idea of the cost of the work, and so cannot apply for
grants. We are worried that we are missing out on available money, and also might loose our newly gained
charity status as we have not managed to get enough money through our bank account within a  twelve months
period. It is really frustrating.

Our AGM takes place at The Village Club on the 15th November, and it does not seem like twelve months since
our last one. If you are a member, or would like to join us, please come down.
